This Is the End – Film Review

20:31

I’ve been saying for a little while that I would love to see a comedy rip on a end-of-the-world film, especially as there seems to be a constant stream of those types of films recently. So, it’s fair to say I was rather chuffed when I saw the trailer for This Is the End, as soon as I saw it I knew I would be seeing it at the cinema as soon as it was out.

Now, there are a lot of the quite poplar actors in this film; Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, James Franco, Craig Robinson, Michael Cera, Mindy Kaling to name just a few. It of course comes from the writers of films such as Superbad and Pineapple Express, so if you liked both of those films it’s quite likely you’ll enjoy this one too. I’ll put it straight out there and say I found this film pretty funny, as did the other cinema goers by the sound of it.

The storyline itself is ridiculous, but then so are most end-of-the-world films, I actually liked how silly the story was as it just made it even more enjoyable. You won’t be surprised to hear there is plenty of drug use and penises thrown into the film, nothing you wouldn’t expect from a Seth Rogen film, so if you are easily offended this probably isn’t the best film for you, but I am always one for you can never judge a film until you have watched it yourself.

My favourite part of the film, without giving anything away, was the last scene, I really didn’t expect it and it certainly made me laugh a lot, and have a little sing in my chair. There is also another scene with the big heart throb Channing Tatum which made me laugh a lot too, it was also really unexpected but it was brilliant. My least favourite part, well it would have to be that I had hoped Jason Segel would have been in the film more, I think he’s hilarious so it was a shame he was only on screen briefly.

For those who haven’t seen the trailer I’ve added it in here below:

As this film hasn’t been out too long I don’t want to really write much more and give the whole thing away, all you need to know is if you like other films by Seth Rogen chances are you’ll like this one too.

Have you seen it yet? What did you think?

I’m thinking about doing some reviews on my favourite films, and not so favourite, would you like to see a lot more film related blog posts?

See you tomorrow! & if you haven’t already please subscribe to my blog I would really appreciate the support Smile
