Film Review: The Wolf of Wall Street

17:43

On Monday night, I headed down to the local Vue to see The Wolf of Wall Street, I've been relatively excited to see this film. First reason being a few friends have said they enjoyed it and it was quite funny, secondly because Leonardo DiCaprio has been in some pretty great films in the past couple of years so I was excited to see another of his films. This film certainly did not disappoint me!

As like with all my reviews, I like to keep them spoiler free as I think it's always best to be open minded when seeing a film and getting the chance to really make your own mind up about it.

The film is a hefty 3 hours, which did worry me before the film started, mainly because I tend to find long films don't need to be so long, and tend to have a lot of fillers which don't add much to the overall story. This film however, is pure story the whole way through, there wasn't any scene which I felt was unnecessary or boring, it all added something to the story and was either interesting or funny.  So, if you are considering seeing this film please  don't let the film length put you off! That's another thing, this film really is rather funny, which as I haven't yet read any reviews, or in fact much about the film at all, I didn't expect it to be as funny as it was. There was laughs the entire way though out the film and I mean real laughs, where even now when I think of certain scenes I start laughing again.

A few other of the great things about this film were, the fact Leonardo DiCaprio puts in yet another brilliant performance and thats partly the reason I'm eager to see the film again. The way it was shot is simply stunning, but then would you really expect anything less from the amazing Martin Scorsese? The story itself is great, and this combined with everything else makes this a must see film in my opinion.

Here watch the trailer:

Now go see the film for yourself and let me know what you think as I'd like to hear your thoughts!

See you in my next post!

  1. Loved this movie! DiCaprio can't disappoint me, he really is so great at so many different roles! And I agree it went by quickly for 3 hours because there was so much happening all the time!
